What is our oil?
It is something that claims all of your time and attention yet brings you no
satisfaction. Our oil may be hidden in the wrappings of a successful profession
or a marriage that appears picture perfect. Other than Christ, you are the only
one who knows what your oil is and what it cost you to obtain it. But once you
make that decision to pour it out, the fragrance of your oil will fill the world
around you. Are you ready to be exposed?
Pour your oil out for
Him!

The Alabaster Box
The story in the Book of
Luke chapter seven about the woman with the alabaster box is one of the finest renditions of
Christ’s acceptance of women in ministry that the Bible records. Although Christ
defined the woman’s act as preparation for His burial, in fact, it was her sins,
her pride and her past that was being put to death. She laid it all at the feet
of Jesus and never took it up again. Not only is her story included here, but
she was the first to witness His resurrection. She believed enough to pour out
the costly oil on His feet. She believed enough to wipe His feet with her hair. She believed enough to leave her
history behind and take up her new life in Christ Jesus. May her story become
your story as you pour your oil out for Him. |

Luke
7:36-38
36-Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the
Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat. 37-And behold, a woman in the city who
was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house,
brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, 38-and stood at His feet behind Him
weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the
hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant
oil.
What does it take to pour your oil?
First, you must realize
that you have an abundance of spiritual oil to share with others. Second, you
must have a burning desire to use your oil in a significant manner in order to
release your costly perfume. Thirdly, you must make the decision that it is more
blessed to give your oil away than to keep it for yourself. After contemplating
the first three steps and accepting the challenge, that something worth giving
is ready to be shared. Do you know that Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior is
the only One worthy of receiving that precious, precious oil of your life? Then
take heart, my sister, find the place where your cherished One is waiting, and
go in, unashamed and pour your oil out for Him!
